The Upper Euphrates Centre for Sustainable Development Researches at the University of Anbar announced its weather forecast for the coming days, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mekhlif, a climate expert at the centre, said that monitoring meteorology through satellites indicates the following:

Fog state: fog formation begins from southern Mosul and the northern and eastern parts of Anbar province and extends to Karbala, Kufa, northern Baghdad and parts of Wasit, which greatly affects the level of visibility, and according to the analysis of weather models, it begins to clear in the areas referred to after 10 am, but the most severe is in Ramadi and its complete clearance is until 12 noon, so vehicle drivers should be careful of that, and drive vehicles slowly with the lighting turned on Front and rear vehicles.

Rain situation: On the evening of Thursday, 26/12/2024, the Mediterranean depression will enter the western parts of Anbar Governorate, and rain will be scattered while it is effective in the northern parts of the country, either on Friday, 27/12/2024, its impact will move on the northern and eastern parts of the country and parts of southern Iraq, while on Saturday, 28/12/2024, the weather will be clear.

Winds: They are moderate in speed throughout Iraq, ranging from 20 to 29 km / h, except on Friday, when there is wind activity, the wind speed increases to reach in the western parts of Anbar Governorate, specifically in Rutba, to 52 km / h, while Ramadi is 42 km / h, and its speed decreases towards the eastern and southern parts of the country.

As for the temperatures, they are as follows:

Northern area:

·        Minimum 2 – 8 degree centigrade.

·        Maximum: 16 – 20 degree centigrade.

Middle area:

·        Minimum: 5 – 11 degree centigrade.

·        Maximum: 16 – 20 degree centigrade.

Southern Region:

·        Minimum 7 – 12 degree centigrade.

·        Maximum: 21 – 25 degree centigrade.
