A state of atmospheric instability and a heavy rainfall expected in the coming weeks
2025-02-28
The Department of Climate Meteorology at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at the University of Anbar announced the latest weather updates and forecasts for next week, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mekhlif, climate expert and meteorology official in the Department of Climate Meteorology at the center stated that the cold wave is expected to end on Sunday, 2-3-2025, hopefully, and as a result, the frost phenomenon will end in the central and southern regions, and the impact of the wave remains, despite its withdrawal on the northern regions of the country.
As for the forecasts, they are as follows, according to satellite:
Rainfall status:
hopefully expects starting from March 5, 2025, that there will be a state of instability in the Middle East, as weather models indicate the occurrence of a deep air depression, God willing, as a result of the descent of a cold polar air and its confluence with a warm and humid tropical air mass, whose scope will be on Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the Levant and parts of Egypt, where the collision of the two air masses occurs, and the upper air system, where the effectiveness of the jet stream and the sharp wave at the pressure level 300 millibar towards South.
As a result of the expected rain situation:
If it is proven, God willing, the period from March 5 to 14 will be a very special period, carrying with it heavy rains that irrigate the lands and fill the dams, especially the central and southern regions, while the northern regions expect snowfall hopefully. As for the capital, Baghdad, it is expected that its services will go out of capacity as a result of the severity of the expected upcoming situation. The region may witness strong winds as a result of the convergence of pressure, as the winds may reach speeds above 50 km / h in most areas of the center and south.
Weather changes are very likely, because the weather is more which with the strong gradient in pressure works to raise the wind strongly in many parts of the range covered by the situation.
