Gradual increase in temperatures and ultraviolet radiation levels is expected for the next seven days

The Meteorological Department at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research - University of Anbar announced the weather forecast for the next seven days using satellites. Ass. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Jassam Mukhalaf, a climate expert and satellite meteorology official, stated that the forecasts indicate the following:

Temperatures:

A gradual increase in temperatures is expected starting from Wednesday, June 25, 2025, and lasting for the next seven days across Iraq. A 500-millibar pressure level will bring a zonal circulation to Iraq, and solar radiation will contribute to heating due to the long day, clear skies, and short nights, as Iraq has officially entered the summer season. The highest temperatures during this period will be on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (June 28-30, 2025), with maximum temperatures as follows:

Northern region:

42 to 44°C

The western region:

38 to 41°C

Central region:

44 to 48 °C

Southern region:

47 to 50 °C

In general, its levels are high, reaching (7 to 11) on the Index, with the highest levels in the western parts of the country and the mountainous areas in the north, and the lowest levels in the eastern parts of the country, specifically in the central and southern regions. It is also unhealthy (it is advised to avoid exposure to its rays during peak hours (12-2 PM) unless necessary, and to wear light clothing that covers the body and is of light colors).

As for the winds:

In terms of direction, it is from the west to the northwest, having a moderating effect on the weather in the western region of the country. Its speed decreases as it moves deeper into the country, contributing to heating and exhausting hot weather conditions.

Dust condition:

It is expected that a limited dust event will become active tomorrow, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in the northern parts of Anbar and the southern parts of Mosul, extending to Tikrit, between 6 to 7 AM and PM. The dust will also affect Basra and Nasiriyah, and this condition is expected to continue until Thursday.
