Training Workshop Wraps Up on Infectious Disease Causes and Their Impact on Human Health

The Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at the University of Anbar concluded today, Tuesday, September 23, 2025, its training course titled “Transmissible Pathogens and Their Impact on Human Health,” which spanned three days of intensive scientific engagement.

Held from Sunday to Tuesday, September 21–23, 2025, the workshop featured lectures by:

•        Dr. Muthanna Badi Farhan, Assistant Professor – Upper Euphrates Center

•        Dr. Hala Arshad Ali, Assistant Professor – Upper Euphrates Center

•        Dr. Wijdan Ahmed Ali, Assistant Professor – College of Science, University of Anbar

The sessions explored how infectious diseases spread—especially through animals and insects that act as primary or intermediate carriers—and examined major illnesses caused by viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi. Participants also learned about diagnostic methods and practical ways to prevent infection.

To wrap up the program, attendees took a final assessment. The workshop drew strong participation from various colleges and research centers across the university, highlighting its value in raising both scientific and public health awareness around infectious diseases.
