Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research (Second Session)

By the grace of Allah, the second session of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at the University of Anbar for the academic year 2025-2026 was held, chaired by the Center's Director, Professor Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, and attended by the members of the Board of Directors, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in the Center's meeting hall.
At the beginning of the session, the Center's Director welcomed the attendees and congratulated them on the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research achieving first place at the university level in marketing scientific outputs through rigorous scientific research and community service studies.
The agenda for the second session of the Board included several topics, the most important of which was:
- Monitoring the implementation of the Center's research plan, with close and continuous follow-up by the heads of departments.
- Discussion of the recommendations of the Scientific Committee meeting held on October 21, 2025, specifically the section concerning the calculation of research hour fees and faculty teaching load.
- Discussion of the possibility of approaching the University President to change the designation of some completed studies from "research team" to "community service."
- Discussion of procedures for strengthening the requirements of the internal regulations for laboratories.
- Discussion of the procedures and instructions for evaluating lecturers’ performance.
- Approval of the studies listed below:
- Climate change and its impact on population migration to the Al-Angur and Al-Majar regions and its environmental effects.
- Establishment of a gene bank at the University of Anbar.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chairman of the Council commended the members' efforts, emphasizing the importance of teamwork to achieve the center's objectives and serve the University of Anbar and the local community.
