The researchers of the Upper Euphrates Center are leading the "Water and Climate" discussions at the University of Anbar's meeting on sustainable development

In the context of the ongoing pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhancing the role of Anbar University in global rankings, a high-level delegation from the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research participated in the expanded meeting held by the President of Anbar University, Professor Dr. Mushtak Talib Salih Neda, with ambassadors for sustainable development. The center's participation was represented by the active presence of its administration and researchers, with the delegation including:

- Professor Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, Director of the Center
- Assistant Professor Dr. Atheer Saleem Al-Mawla, Head of the Planning and Databases Department
- Instructor Dr. Haitham Abdul-Muhsin, Head of the Meteorology Department
- Assistant Instructor Mohammed Majeed Hameed, Researcher in the Meteorology Department
This participation is a culmination of the center's research and field efforts, as the aforementioned team is responsible for contributing to the achievement of two strategic United Nations goals:
• Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
• Goal 13: Climate Action.
During the meeting, the center's team discussed proposed plans and mechanisms for activating these two vital goals, which represent the core of the center's work and its specific area of ??expertise. They presented scientific insights that contribute to enhancing the university's standing, which has topped the list of Iraqi universities in THE Impact rankings, and affirmed their determination to move forward in transforming these goals into tangible realities that serve society and the environment.
