Participation in the National Mental Arithmetic and Rubik's Cube Competition

As part of its ongoing efforts to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at the University of Anbar participated in supervising the National Mental Arithmetic and Rubik's Cube Competition. Assistant Instructor Yasser Mar'i Nayef and Osama Khamis Ali, researchers at the center, represented the University of Anbar.
The competition was held at the Anbar International Hotel in Ramadi, organized by the International Federation of Soroban and Mental Arithmetic in cooperation with the hotel, on Thursday, February 12, 2026. It saw wide participation from students and other attendees from various Iraqi governorates.
This event was a distinguished scientific and educational milestone aimed at developing students' abilities in rapid thinking skills, enhancing their concentration levels, and improving their problem-solving skills, thereby fostering a spirit of scientific and creative competition among the participants. The competition was marked by an enthusiastic atmosphere that reflected an advanced level of mental skills and cognitive abilities among the students competing in mental arithmetic and Rubik's Cube solving.
The participation of the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research aligns with its strategic objectives of supporting scientific and educational activities that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting a culture of innovation and creativity, and encouraging initiatives aimed at developing mental capabilities and establishing a culture of positive challenge within the academic and educational community.
