In recognition of its outstanding efforts, President of University of Anbar visits the Upper Euphrates Center and presents it with a letter of appreciation

In a move embodying the support of the Anbar University Presidency for research excellence, and emphasizing the role of scientific centers in serving sustainable development, the President of Anbar University, Professor Dr. Mushtak Talib Al-Neda, visited the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research. He was welcomed by the Director of the Center, Professor Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, and a group of researchers and staff members.

During the visit, the President of the University graciously presented the Center with a high-level "letter of appreciation," praising the exceptional efforts exerted by the Center on vital issues affecting the University and society, most notably:

• Teamwork: The achievements of the Center are the fruit of the combined efforts of researchers, administrators, and technicians who work as a unified team to achieve the University's vision.
• Monitoring and documenting weather conditions: Excellence in accurate monitoring and weather forecasting through the center's stations.
• Addressing climate change: Providing institutions with accurate scientific data that contributes to decision-making in combating drought and desertification.
• Water resource sustainability: Providing in-depth hydrological studies on the Euphrates River basin and water harvesting management.
• Social responsibility: The center's role as a trusted source for providing the community with sound scientific reports.
• The center's media role: Successfully simplifying complex scientific concepts and communicating them to the community with high professionalism, in addition to highlighting and promoting the center's scientific and research activities academically and through the media, thus contributing to enhancing the university's presence in various forums.

During his field visit to the center's departments and laboratories, the university president emphasized that research performance must proceed along two integrated tracks:

• Service track: Providing scientific and practical solutions to the problems of the local community.
• Academic Track: Enhancing scientific rigor and publishing in international databases (Scopus and Clarivate), in line with the strategic vision of the University of Anbar.

His Excellency also directed the importance of openness to government institutions, emphasizing the need to provide all necessary resources to ensure the development of the research environment and the improvement of performance efficiency.

For their part, the Director of the Upper Euphrates Center and all its staff expressed their deep gratitude for this visit and recognition, affirming that the letter of thanks and appreciation represents a significant morale booster and an added responsibility. They emphasized their commitment to continuing research excellence and scientific contributions, striving to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and enhance the University of Anbar's position as a beacon of science and knowledge in Iraq and the region.
