Research cooperation between the UEBDC and the Turkish University of Ankara

Within the scientific and research sabbatical program of Prof. Dr. Isam Muhammad Abdulhameed, one of the researchers of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center in Turkey / Ankara University, a meeting was held with Dr. Bilge Omar, Director of the Irrigation and Sanitation Division - Head of the Survey and Planning Department / General Directorate of Water Affairs in the Republic of Turkey, where the possibility of using saline water with fresh water for irrigation was discussed, in cooperation with Dr. Sunay at Ankara University to prepare a research at the above Turkish University to study the use of saline water in irrigation.
The Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center has adopted the idea of using saline water for irrigation, as part of the development plans for the Upper Euphrates Basin, since many (ground) water sources contain high levels of salt, so it is possible that the results of this research have positive effects on the development of Agriculture and development in general in the areas of the upper Euphrates. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sate’e Omar is a professor and researcher at the University of Ankara.
