By the grace of Allah Almighty, the periodic meeting (third session) of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at the University of Anbar for the academic year 2025-2026 was held, chaired by the Director of the Center, Professor Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, and attended by the members of the Board of Directors, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in the meeting hall at the Center.

The agenda of the second session of the Board included several topics, the most important of which were:

  1. The teaching load of researcher members in research centers.
  2. The teaching load of researchers at our research center.
  3. Approval of the titles of community service studies:

The decline in the water levels of Lake Habbaniyah and its impact on population migration to the Al-Angur and Al-Majr areas and its environmental effects. - Derivation and Assessment of a Region-Specific Heat Index Equation for Anbar Province and Iraq under Climate Change.

  1. Regulations for holding scientific conferences according to the Scientific Affairs Department's letter No. 26 dated January 26, 2026.
  2. Discussion of the recommendations contained in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's letter No. 2305-2789 dated January 11, 2026, regarding the analysis of performance evaluation results for faculty and staff in public and private universities and colleges.
  3. Discussion of the letter from the Office of the Assistant to the University President for Administrative Affairs regarding staff rotation, surplus staff, and the substitute teacher system.
  4. Discussion of awarding a letter of thanks and appreciation to the Electronic Archiving Committee, Administrative Order No. M.A.F/47 dated January 20, 2026.
  5. Discussion of requesting the University Presidency to develop a job description for the research station – Haditha – to be equivalent to a unit or division. 9- Strengthening the research plans of the center's departments, while emphasizing the researchers' obligation to adhere to working hours.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Council commended the members' efforts, stressing the importance of teamwork in achieving the center's goals and serving University of Anbar and the local community.
