Available Renewable Energy (Solar and Wind) According to Data from the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research Stations
2026-02-17
Based on the Center's plans and vision for achieving sustainable development goals, and in line with the directives of University of Anbar within its strategic plans to expand the use of renewable and clean energy, and continuing to provide important databases for researchers and graduate students, the Planning and Databases Department and the Climatology Department at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research, in cooperation with the Renewable Energy Research Center at University of Anbar, have released data on available renewable energy according to measurements and data available from the Center's meteorological station located on the university campus in Ramadi, in addition to the Haditha and Rutba stations.
The data includes the amount of solar and wind energy generated, along with illustrative charts based on station data on solar radiation and energy, as well as wind speed during the month of January. Assistant Professor Dr. Atheer Saleem Al-Mawla, Head of the Planning and Databases Department, stated that the department, in cooperation with the Meteorology Department, will continue to provide detailed information and data, making it available to researchers, graduate students, and other interested parties. This contributes to disseminating knowledge about these energy sources, which represent the future of energy in Iraq and the world, and helps achieve the center's and university's 2030 vision for sustainable development. This data also provides a clear picture of the most important areas in the governorate that can be utilized for renewable energy projects.
