Initiation of preparation of the database for the productive forest project

With the start of the new academic year 2022-2023, this day 2-10-2022 launched the work and measurements of the preparation of databases for the project of the forest produced in the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center after the rehabilitation and re-operation of field and field measuring devices with the blessed efforts of the staff of the Center and in cooperation with Engineer Nadhem Bdaiwi from the Department of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering, who was able to rehabilitate and restart one of the most important field devices.
Measurements of the moisture content of the soil, the concentration of salts, electrical conductivity and hydrogen function (pH) were carried out on this day after conducting tests on soil tissue and determining the proportion of gypsum material in it. It is hoped that the databases will contribute to determining the date and quantity of irrigation, in addition to the possibility of using these databases in the design and modelling of smart irrigation systems that can contribute to the management of water resources and reduce waste in water as part of the procedures to reduce the impact of climate change on the water resources that the centre seeks to develop and use.
