In accordance to the directives of the Presidency of University of Anbar in cooperation and openness to governmental institutions and the public sector to serve the community and in line with the fourth goal of sustainable development goals (quality education), in support of the plan of the College of Engineering in achieving the requirements of engineering academic accreditation (ABET) and within the cooperation program between the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center and the College of Engineering and the management of the modern dam project regarding the curricula of the two subjects of dam designs, safety and operation of dams in the fourth phase and the possibility of developing the prescribed vocabulary for these materials through the participation of experts in the field of work and specialists in this field with practical experience in the implementation, design and operation of these projects and the most important topics needed by the dam engineer in this field for the purpose of Focusing on them in lectures to develop students' perceptions, raise the scientific level and achieve the goals and outputs of these basic materials for the engineer of dams and water resources, which is one of the requirements for obtaining academic accreditation for engineering (ABET).

A comprehensive encyclopedia in the design, operation and safety of dams was prepared by Mr. Tarek Battal, project manager of Haditha dam that represents the conclusion of more than three decades in the field of design, implementation, operation and safety of dams after a copy of the lectures of the above two subjects was sent and discussed the most important vocabulary that can support an applied practical aspect and actual examples applied on the ground and with the direct support of the Deanship of the College of Engineering, which will have a significant and positive impact on the development of college graduates in the specialization of engineering Dams and water resources and support research projects and studies with researchers of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center in the field of water resources.
