Based on the directives of the Presidency of the University and its strategic plans in serving the community and achieving Vision 2030 and the program of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre to implement an awareness program to achieve the goals of sustainable development, especially with regard to the environment, water and public health, which was proposed by the Administrative Board of UEBDC and approved by the Presidency of the University, the UEBDC and the Department of Dams Engineering and Water Resources, in cooperation with the Distinguished (Al-Mutamayezat) Secondary School in Anbar, organized awareness lectures for high school students and its teaching staff, where Dr Ibtihal Ahmed Mawloud gave lectures on waste  Plastic and its impact on the environment and ways to reduce its use and treatment While Assistant Researchers Head Yasser Marei Nayef gave lectures on public health and disease prevention, where the lectures and posters presented during the lectures expressed the importance of awareness, especially for the student community in this regard.

The Manager of the school expressed her deep thanks and appreciation to the University of Anbar for this wonderful initiative, which was reflected through the great and positive interaction of students, stressing that such lectures will continue and suggested a set of topics that are concerned with raising awareness among students and raising the level of their general culture in which university professors can have a prominent and important role.

It is noteworthy that the Administrative Board of UEBDC has proposed an awareness program to rationalize water and energy consumption and reduce waste harmful to the environment, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of paying attention to public health, starting from the age groups in the middle stage upwards, which comes within the vision of the university and the centre to achieve the goals of sustainable development It was supported by the President of the University, and the program includes an analytical study to find out the extent to which such programs and lectures affect students' behaviour towards the environment and community health through data collected about Through questionnaires for students as well as observations of faculty on the extent of change in behaviour towards the environment and society.
