A delegation from University of Anbar visits the Research and Development Authority at the Ministry of Industry and Minerals


A high-level delegation from University of Anbar visited the Research and Development Authority at the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to activate the memorandum of scientific cooperation signed between the university and the authority. The delegation, which included in its membership, the deans of the colleges of engineering, science and education for pure sciences and applied sciences in Heet, the assistant dean of the College of Engineering for scientific affairs, the directors of the desert studies, the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing and Renewable Energy Research Centres, in addition to the directors of the departments of scientific affairs, missions and cultural relations, met with Dr. Eng. Ahmed Younis Qassem, Director General of the Authority, and the directors of scientific centres and departments in the Authority.

After that, the delegation was divided into groups according to specialization and toured the authority's centres and laboratories to see the most important projects, research and measurements conducted by the authority's staff and discuss the possibility of benefiting and exchanging use of the university and the authority's laboratories, especially those related to the uses and manufacture of solar and renewable energy systems, water treatments, determining water quality, laboratories for environmental and pollution studies, in addition to extracting oils from medicinal plants and using them in pharmaceutical industries and nanotechnology laboratories for various uses.

The Director General of the Commission expressed his thanks and gratitude to the University of Anbar for this initiative and his full support for activating the memorandum of scientific cooperation and his aspiration to expand the areas of this cooperation. For his part, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Ali Zidan Al-Ameri, Dean of the College of Applied Sciences at Heet, thanked on behalf of the delegation the Director General of the Commission for the warm reception and seriousness in activating the memorandum and expanding the horizons of scientific and research cooperation in order to achieve the desired goals in developing scientific research and serving the Iraqi community and industry.
