The terminal station in Haditha monitors runoff of valleys in the region

In continuation of its efforts to monitor and record runoff rains in the valleys of the western region, the Haditha terminal station, affiliated to the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre at University of Anbar, mobilized the efforts of its employees to monitor these runoff events, which lasted for hours until sunset today, Sunday, March 26, 2023.

Engineer Juma'a Mohammed Ahmed, an employee of the terminal station in Haditha, said that the water level in Zaghdan valley has flooded the measurement ruler at times, i.e. exceeding 2 m depth and a discharge rate exceeding 100 m3 per second, and the volume of water that was measured at the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre station was estimated at 1,260,000 m3 (one million, two hundred and sixty thousand cubic meters).

In Banat Al-Hassan valley, a depth of more than 2 m and a discharge rate of more than 100 m3  per second were also recorded, while the volume of water that passed through the centre's  station on the valley was estimated at 1,200,000 (one million two hundred thousand cubic meters).

In Horan valley at the measurement station of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre on the Ramadi-Haditha road, the runoff were much less, as they recorded a depth of 25 cm at the measurement station of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, at a discharge rate of (24.75) m3 per second, while the volume of water that passed through the station was more than (89,000) cubic meters.

At the university site of the College of Basic Education, the discharge rate in the valley passing through the site was (42) m3 per second and the volume of water passing (150,000) m3. Further detailed data will be released later.
