Preparation of monitoring stations in the valleys of the western region


The terminal Station’s team in Haditha affiliated to the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre at University of Anbar has completed all preparations for the 2023-2024 rainy seasons.

Engineer Juma’a Mohammed Ahmed, station’s manager, said that this week witnessed the rehabilitation and maintenance of monitoring stations in the valleys of (Hauran, Hajlan, Zaghdan, Benyada, Al-Akhaidar 1 Valley and Al-Akhaidar 2 valley) and preparing them for measurement in the next rainy season hopefully while the rest of the stations in other valleys will be prepared during the next few days.

It is noteworthy that the stations located in a number of valleys in the western region of Iraq have recorded and documented all waves of floods in the valleys built on them for the first time since 1977.
