The Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre - University of Anbar announced the update of the weather for Sunday, 21/1/2024. Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mikhlif, a climate expert in the Department of Natural Resources Development at the Centre, said that, tomorrow is the end of an extension of the control of the tropical high pressure system over Iraq, as the weather is warm during the day and there is no rainfall.
The development of the polar depression and its impact on Jordan, Syria and northern Saudi Arabia, and then the beginning of its entry into Iraq on Sunday evening. . It is accompanied by a very cold polar air mass, as temperatures drop from Sunday evening and during the coming days and are expected to reach below zero degrees Celsius, where frost and freezing on clear nights, and when there are chances of precipitation, snow is expected even on the northern and central parts of Iraq, especially the western, and during the deepening of the passage of this system, its effects reach the southern governorates of the country hopefully, so precautions should be taken to maintain heating.
