Iraq is on a date with a series of depressions and rain


Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mikhlif, a climate expert in the Department of Natural Resources Development / Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre – University of Anbar, announced the expected weather situation for the country for the coming days.

The climate expert stated that starting from the evening of Wednesday 6/3/2024, the northern region of Iraq will be exposed to a highly effective depression accompanied by thunderstorms, and its impact will be weak on the central region of Iraq, and its impact will end on Friday evening, 8/3/2024.

The activity of the depression will be renewed on Saturday evening, 9/3/2024 in the northern region of Iraq as well, with snowfall on the mountainous heights, and it will end on Sunday evening. On Monday, 11/3/2024, thunderstorm cells will form over southern Iraq, witnessed by the governorates of (Muthanna - Nasiriyah - Basra and Amara). After that, an air altitude will prevail over Iraq on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As for Thursday, 14/3/2023, on the date of the Almighty hopefully, with an air depression that controls Iraq completely, the beginning of its entry into the western region, accompanied by thunderstorms and rainfall, while the intensity of rain will be concentrated on the northern and north-eastern region of Iraq, which will contribute to strengthening the water storage of dams in this region, and this situation will continue over two days hopefully or more.

As for temperatures, they are generally moderate. On Sunday, temperatures will drop on 7/3/2024 to be as follows:

Northern Region: (minimum 2 / maximum 11).

Central Region (minimum 5 / maximum 20).

Southern Region (minimum 13 / maximum 25).
