A thunderstorm in the regions of northern Iraq, reaching its extensions to some areas of the centre of Iraq

The Upper Euphrates Basin Development Centre - University of Anbar announced that Iraq was exposed this Wednesday to a state of atmospheric instability, according to Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mukhlif, climate expert, and researcher in the Department of Natural Resources Development in the UEBDC, as formations of clouds begin to form over Mosul in the early morning and then develop to form a thunderstorm covering most regions of northern Iraq at (11:30) in the morning, until its extensions reach Tikrit, Diyala, Baghdad and the north-eastern parts of Anbar, and its peak on the capital after (1:30) pm and continues until (4) pm, and the situation ends after (4) pm. Owners of silos and granaries in these areas are advised to always prepare nylon covers to keep the grain from rainfall and emergency weather fluctuations in this season.
It is noteworthy that the UEBDC at the University of Anbar has a program for meteorology and monitoring climate change, for the purpose of providing a reliable database for researchers and graduate students, to study these changes within the university's strategic plan and vision 2030 to achieve sustainable development goals.
