Climate specialists at the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre at University of Anbar announced that the Iraq was affected by a hot air mass during (Friday and Saturday) corresponding to 5-6/7/2024, with a strong air rise in the upper layers of the weather and accompanied by a surface thermal depression, which causes the intensification of hot and dry northwestern Al-Bawareh winds during Friday and Saturday, which causes to provoke dust waves in several areas of the Iraq and low horizontal visibility, especially the western region, and its impact reaches Baghdad and the southern regions.

The winds will be northwesterly active, pouring up to 55 km / h in open areas, and causing dust and dust waves in large areas of the Iraq, especially in the central and southern regions of the Iraq, which causes low horizontal visibility, and a dust condition prevails in large areas.

Therefore, please pay attention to the risks of low horizontal visibility due to dust and its impact on respiratory and eye patients, as well as closing windows to prevent dust and sand from leaking into homes in the event of dust storm intensification.
