Meeting of the Board of Directors of Upper Euphrates Research Centre for Sustainable Development (Second Session)

The regular meeting (second session) of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Research Centre for Sustainable Development at the University of Anbar for the academic year 2024-2025 was held under the chairmanship of the Director of the Centre, Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, and in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors, on Monday, 30/12/2024, in the meeting room of the Centre.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the session welcomed the new members of the Board of Directors of the Centre, namely: (Prof. Dr. Qasim Ahmed Rammal / College of Arts / University of Anbar) and (Dr. Arkan Ali Muhammad / Directorate of Agriculture of Anbar), appreciating their participation in the scientific and practical activities and activities of the Centre, after which the Council discussed the paragraphs included in the agenda and took recommendations on them and submitted them to the Presidency of the University for approval.
The most important items on the agenda of the meeting are the following:
1. The Council discussed the mechanisms and steps for the establishment of the departments of environment and pollution, and climate meteorology, after the issuance of the university order for the establishment of No. 12458 dated 17/12/2024.
2. They discussed what was stated in the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 14587 dated 2/12/2024, regarding marketing and promoting the centre's research products to achieve the ultimate goal, which is solving problems, serving the community and advancing the scientific reality.
3. The reality and aspirations of the centre were discussed with regard to the centre’s three laboratories (soil, water and plant laboratory, environment and pollution laboratory, and the research station laboratory in Haditha) after obtaining official approvals for the establishment of the aforementioned scientific departments, to work on finding appropriate mechanisms for their management and determining the reference of these laboratories in light of the recent development.
4. Directing the follow-up of the research lines of the centre, and activating the role of departments in completing the research plan on time.
5. Discuss what is put forward by the respected members of the Council.
