Upper Euphrates Research Center for Sustainable Development Board Meeting (Third Session)

The regular meeting (third session) of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Research Center for Sustainable Development at the University of Anbar for the academic year 2024-2025 was held under the chairmanship of the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, and in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors, on Tuesday, 18/2/2025, in the meeting room of the Center.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the session welcomed the attendees and congratulated the new members of the Center's Board of Directors, namely: Assistant Professor Dr. Hala Arshad Ali (Head of the Environment and Pollution Department), Dr. Atheer Salim Obaid (Head of Planning and Databases Department), Dr. Saad Jabbar Hafi (Head of the Natural Resources Development Department), and Dr. Haitham Abdul Mohsen Afen (Head of the Meteorology Department).
The agenda of the Board of Directors in its third meeting dealt with several topics, the most important of which were:
- Replacing the membership of the Center's Board of Directors for the former heads of departments, with the nomination of new members for the membership of the Board.
- Designate a new replacement that will be responsible for the laboratory unit in the center.
- Discussing ways to rehabilitate the Rutba Research Station.
- Discussing the development of research stations along the Euphrates River, especially in the city of Heet.
- Work on the development of the study of the higher diploma, as the center has the staff and expertise that qualify it to develop such studies.
- Work to update the research plan periodically and continuously and focus on research that serves the labor market and facilitates its marketing.
- Discuss some administrative issues that conduct research work at the center.
