Meeting of the Board of Directors of Upper Euphrates Research Center for Sustainable Development (Fourth Session)

The periodic meeting (fourth session) of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Research Center for Sustainable Development at the University of Anbar for the academic year 2024-2025 was held under the chairmanship of the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, and in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors, on Wednesday, 14/5/2025, in the office of the Director of the Center.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the session welcomed the attendees, especially the new member of the Council, Prof. Dr. Thaer Shaker Mahmoud, and a teacher at the College of Engineering at the University of Anbar.
The agenda of the Council at its fourth meeting dealt with several topics, the most important of which were:
1- Considering the recommendations of the minutes of the meeting of the Scientific Committee of the Center held on 21/4/2025.
2- Considering the recommendations of the minutes of the meeting of the Scientific Committee of the Center held on 4/5/2025.
3- Involving one of the center's teachers in the membership of the research team proposed by the Directorate of Agriculture in Anbar to conduct a study on (the use of marine algae as an organic fertilizer for the mint plant and its impact on plant growth and productivity).
4- Book Acknowledgment Author tagged (Your Comprehensive Guide to Home Garden) Authors:
- Prof. Dr. Essam Khudair Hamza.
- Dr. Haneen Shartouh Sharqi.
- Engineer Omar Essam Khudair.
5- A proposal to form a research team to study the risks of the collapse of the Rutba Dam in Anbar province and its impact on the Rutba district and the dams behind the dam.
6- Consider the research topics submitted by the Center's staff that can be carried out in the form of research or studies that serve the Center's research lines.
7- Discussing a number of official books addressed to the Center that need the decision of the Council.
8- Discussing ways to transform the tagged study (the possibility of producing organic fertilizers that replace mineral fertilizers or contribute to reducing dependence on them) implemented by a research team from our center from applied research to a community service study.
9- The same applies to other studies that have been completed and are in print.
10- Consider the procedures required for the installation of a climate meteorological station in the Department of the Resident Engineer for Small Dams in Western desert, after obtaining the approval of the said department.
