Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research (First Session) for the academic year 2025-2026


By the grace of Allah, the first regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at the University of Anbar for the academic year 2025–2026 was held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, chaired by the center's director, Professor Dr. Ammar Hatim Kamel, and attended by the esteemed board members, in the center's meeting hall.

The chairperson opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees, and then reviewed the council's agenda, which included several important topics, the most notable of which were:

1.     Naming the head and members of the scientific committee for the center after the retirement of its former head, Professor Dr. Isam Mohamed Abdulhameed.

2.     Discussion of the center's strategic plan prepared by the specialized team.

3.     Review of the achievements of the research plan for the academic year 2024–2025, along with the activities of the scientific departments.

4.     The discussion included the letters from Anbar Governorate, including the letters from the Joint Coordination and Monitoring Center and the Environment Protection and Improvement Council, regarding the appointment of representatives from state formations to coordinate with the center and implement what was stated in the resolutions of the Environment Protection and Improvement Council meeting held on 29/5/2025, concerning the resolution of some environmental issues in the governorate.

5.     Discussion of proposals for naming representatives in accordance with the center's research directions and in line with the specializations of the Higher Institute for Post graduate Studies.

6.     Discussion of the letter from the University Presidency – Hall Affairs Department, numbered (1108) dated 13/8/2025, which includes a call to work according to the National Center for Crisis and Disaster Management's plan for 2025, and the emphasis on implementing the university's directives regarding electronic data preservation

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Council appreciated the members' efforts, emphasizing the importance of working as a unified team to achieve the center's goals and serve the University of Anbar and the local community.
