In a move that underscores its scientific and research standing, the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research achieved a remarkable accomplishment during the University's 28th anniversary celebrations, ranking first among the university's research centers and garnering the most awards for excellence and innovation. This reflects the substantial efforts exerted in the field of sustainable development research and rigorous scientific inquiry.

The center also achieved first place among the university's research centers in high-quality scientific publications indexed in the Clarivate Q1 database. This achievement reflects the center's successful strategy in managing scientific research and utilizing it to serve the community and development.

To further harden this institutional excellence, researchers at the center garnered prestigious individual awards, culminating in special recognition from the President of University of Anbar, Professor Dr. Mushtak Talib Al-Neda. This underscores the center's dominance in research excellence awards, which are as follows:

  • The Global Excellence Award (UNESCO Ranking): Dr. Haitham Abdul-Muhsin Afen, a researcher at the center, was awarded the title of "First Researcher" in the field of engineering and technology, according to the UNESCO ranking, in recognition of his pioneering academic role and high-quality research contributions.
  • The Scientific Publication Award (Clarivate Database): The same researcher was honored for achieving the highest H-index in the Clarivate database, a strong indicator of the quality of research activity and the high volume of citations of the center's research in international forums.
  • The Best Researcher Award at the Center: Dr. Haitham Abdul-Muhsin was recognized for his exceptional efforts and active role in enhancing the university's academic standing and achieving the mission and objectives of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center.
