Available Renewable Energy (Solar and Wind) Resources According to Data from the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research Station
2026-01-07
Based on the plans and vision of the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, and in line with the directives of Anbar University's strategic plans to expand the use of renewable and clean energy, and continuing to provide important databases for researchers and graduate students, the Planning and Databases Department and the Climatology Department at the Center, in cooperation with the Renewable Energy Research Center at Anbar University, have published data on available renewable energy according to measurements and data from the Center's weather station located on the university campus in Ramadi.
The data includes the amount of solar and wind energy generated, along with illustrative charts, based on data from the Center's station regarding solar radiation and energy levels, as well as wind speed during the month of December. Assistant Professor Dr. Atheer Salim Al-Mawla, Head of the Planning and Databases Department, stated that the department, in cooperation with the Meteorology Department, will continue to provide detailed information and data, making it available to researchers, graduate students, and other interested parties. This contributes to disseminating knowledge about these energy sources, which represent the future of energy in Iraq and the world, and helps achieve the center's and university's 2030 vision for sustainable development goals.
