A training course entitled (Between the possibility of application and challenges ... Biogas production is an urgent necessity for a healthy and sustainable environment)


Within the activities of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre/ Human Resources Development Department, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Centre at the Presidency of the University of Anbar and under the direct supervision of the Director of the Centre, Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, the free training course tagged (Between the possibility of application and challenges ... Biogas production is an urgent necessity for a sustainable healthy environment), which lasted for three days for the period 27-29/10/2024.

The course was lectured by:

1.     Prof. Dr. Bassam Ramadan Sarheed. 

2.     Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Obaid Farhan.

3.     Instructor Dr. Haneen Shartouh Sharqi.

The course included three themes:

First theme: Which was entitled: (Management and Recycling of Organic Waste for the Production of Organic Fertilizer), in which Prof. Dr. Bassam Ramadan Sarheed presented the concept of organic fertilizers, their importance, effects, how to produce them and their health impact on plants and the environment.

Second theme: It was entitled: (The Environmental Impact of Emissions), in which Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Obaid Farhan addressed the environmental impact of emissions and organic waste causing them if they are not dealt with safely by recycling them and converting them into organic fertilizers with high-quality specifications.

Third theme: Which was entitled (Biogas Technology between Reality and Application), in which the teacher, Dr. Haneen Shartouh Sharqi, showed the possibility of producing biogas and using it in the areas of daily life of each family, and the role of biotechnology in preserving the environment in a sustainable manner, and preserving renewable energy sources by employing organic waste with biogas technology, and achieving several goals in the environment and energy, including the disposal of environmentally harmful waste and then converting it into biogas used for cooking, lighting, heating and multiple other purposes, and in At the same time, high quality organic fertilizer is produced through biogas technology.

The course witnessed the presence of the centre’s researchers and a number of faculty and researchers from colleges and research centres at the university, which included some questions in different axes on the topics that were raised, which concluded with a test for all participants.
