Heat wave over Iraq and increase in UV flow


The Department of Climate Meteorology at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research - Anbar University announced on Friday 16/5/2025, the meteorological forecast through satellites for the coming days. Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mekhlef, meteorologist and satellite meteorological laboratory official, said that the flow of ultraviolet rays on the country increases: during the next week, accompanied by the country's exposure hopefully to a heat wave starting from Friday hopefully, corresponding to 16/5/2025, especially when the subtropical high dominates Iraq and the Levant on Saturday evening, as it is accompanied by a hot air mass that raises the temperature throughout this week, as the maximum temperature exceeds 40 degrees Celsius, especially the central and southern region of the country, as shown in the temperature charts for some provinces of Iraq.
