Climate Conditions for Coming Days

The Meteorology and Climate Department at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at University of Anbar announced this Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the weather forecast, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mukhlef, Head of the Satellite Meteorology Laboratory at the Center, stated that weather monitoring and satellite images indicate: After Iraq was affected by a hot air mass that raised temperatures, with the maximum exceeding 40 degrees Celsius during the past days, starting from today, Wednesday, corresponding to 5/28/2025, a significant and noticeable drop in temperatures exceeding 8 degrees Celsius will occur, as a result of a gentle air mass with moderate characteristics, currently controlling the region’s atmosphere. It is expected to continue for a relatively long period exceeding a week, in light of the absence of any indications of the formation of heat waves during the coming week which means the continuation of the gentle and refreshing weather, especially for the northern region, with temperatures recorded lower than their general average for this time of year.
