Expected weather conditions for the next few days

The Meteorology Department at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at University of Anbar has announced a clarification regarding the weather forecast for the next few days.

Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassim Mukhlef, climate expert and satellite meteorologist, explained the rare moderate temperatures in Iraq and the Levant.

The jet stream is penetrating the 300 millibar pressure level towards the Levant and Iraq, which has led to the advancement of a moderately cold air mass, which has decreased the temperature to 35 degrees Celsius, an 8-10 degree difference compared to last week when temperatures reached 45 degrees. This is also compared to the same time last year when Iraq was experiencing forty-degree heat waves. However, due to the dynamics of the atmosphere - for every action there is a reaction - and as a result of this penetration, a hot air mass has pushed towards Western Europe, which has raised the temperature there to 10 degrees Celsius, amid high humidity.
