Participation in the meeting of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils

Prof. Dr. Isam Mohammed Abdulhameed (Member of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre) participated in the meeting of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils dedicated to meeting with the main researchers of the winning projects of the above Council's initiative.

The participation included an intervention during the meeting in which he asked to approach the universities of the concerned researchers regarding the winning projects, as these projects will be implemented within the concerned universities and in cooperation with them and benefit from their graduate programs to involve specialists and their students in the implementation and development of these creative ideas.

He explained that those gathered have informed us that contracts will be signed for the winning projects at the beginning of next April, and the Anbar University project (the establishment of the water and energy harvesting building) will be funded with thirty thousand dollars in two instalments during the current and next academic years.

There was an almost unanimous objection by those gathered to reduce the amounts from $ 100,000 to about a third only, and perhaps this will be addressed in meetings and workshops to be planned to be held in Cairo later.
