Under the slogan "Towards a Resilient Society," a team from the Upper Euphrates Center visits Ramadi schools to combat negative phenomena

In line with its leading role in serving the community and promoting ethical awareness, and as part of its broader campaign to disseminate community culture, a research team from the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at University of Anbar, in coordination with the Anbar Education Directorate (Preparation and Training Department), conducted a field visit to several educational institutions in Ramadi, most notably Al-Zaytoon Preparatory School for Boys.

The visit aimed to protect and educate students about a range of alien phenomena and negative behaviors in society. The presentations were characterized by academic depth and social analysis, with researchers focusing on the following key themes:

    • School violence and bullying: highlighting their concepts, underlying causes, and severe psychological and social impacts on academic progress.
    • Cybersecurity: defining cyber extortion and how to prevent it, while clarifying the legal and psychological consequences for both victims and perpetrators.
    • Combating addiction: reviewing the dangers of drug use and methods of prevention, emphasizing the collective responsibility to report drug dealers to protect social peace.
    • Behavioral awareness: discussions covered issues of harassment and other phenomena, offering practical solutions and mechanisms for treatment and prevention.

The research team included a select group of individuals who contributed to enriching the dialogue with students:

1. Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Yasseen Nedah

2. Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Taha Yasseen

3. Instructor Dr. Haneen Shartouh Sharqi

4. Assistant Instructor Riyam Tariq Saleh

5. Head Researcher Yasser Mar'i Nayef.

6. Mr. Ahmed Majid Jassim.

The visit witnessed significant interaction from students and teaching staff. Specialized informational brochures were distributed, designed to simplify scientific concepts and provide preventative advice.

At the conclusion of the tour, school administrations expressed their deep gratitude to the University of Anbar and the Upper Euphrates Center for this responsible scientific initiative. It is worth noting that this visit marks the beginning of a series of planned tours to cover all schools in the Ramadi district, ensuring that the awareness message reaches the widest possible segment of young people of both genders.
