Upper Euphrates Center Participates in Field Day Activities at University of Anbar

In line with the vision of University of Anbar for promoting scientific integration and achieving sustainable development goals, and on behalf of the Director of the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research, a delegation of leading researchers and academics from the Center participated in the Field Day activities organized by the Field Crops Department at the College of Agriculture, under the strategic theme: (Tomorrow's Crops, for Sustainable Food and Leading Industry), on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

The event witnessed active participation from Center staff, who contributed to enriching the discussion topics and strengthening research collaboration. The delegation included:

  • Assistant Professor Dr. Muneer Naji Ahmed
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Nawfal Adnan Sabri
  • Instructor Dr. Saleh Mahmoud Saleh
  • Assistant Instructor Hassan Ali Hussein
  • Mr. Ahmed Majid Jassim

The scientific program for Field Day included a series of specialized lectures delivered by a distinguished group of instructors and experts. The scientific perspectives presented revolved around three main pillars:

The lectures highlighted the current state of agricultural production in light of the steadily increasing population, offering an in-depth analytical overview of the challenges facing the achievement of self-sufficiency and outlining a scientific roadmap for bridging the food gap.

Within the framework of the move towards clean agriculture, the use of allelopathy and plant extracts as safe and bioavailable alternatives to traditional chemical pesticides was explored, ensuring the preservation of ecological balance and public health.

Specialists discussed mechanisms for integrating modern technologies and artificial intelligence into the agricultural research system, focusing on technology transfer strategies to ensure these innovations reach farmers in practical fields, thereby increasing production efficiency and reducing human effort.

The event finished with an extensive scientific discussion with the attending technical and academic staff, during which ideas were exchanged on ways to transform research outputs into practical realities that serve the agricultural and industrial sectors in the governorate, thereby enhancing the university’s role as a leader in the development process in society.
