Training Course – Fundamentals of Sober Scientific Research


Within the activities of the Human Resources Development Department at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center at the Presidency of the University of Anbar, and under the direct supervision of the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, the free training course tagged: (Fundamentals of Sober Scientific Research), which lasted for three days for the period 9-11/2/2025, was concluded on Tuesday, 11/2/2025.

The lecturers of this course were:

·        Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Yassin Nada / Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research.

·        Instructor Dr. Ahmed Taha Yassin / Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research.

·        Instructor Dr. Omar Razzaq Hammoud / College of Arts, Anbar University.

The first lecture, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Yassin Nada, on: (Scientific Research: Foundations and Concepts), dealt with several topics, the most important of which were: (Definitions of scientific research, the main types of scientific research, the characteristics of scientific research, the characteristics of the distinguished researcher, the difference between research and study, and the similarities and differences between the problem and the problem).

The second lecture presented by the teacher, Dr. Ahmed Taha Yassin, which was on (scientific research methods), where he touched on several topics, the most important of which were: (introduction to scientific research methods, definition of terms research methodology and methodology, identification of the characteristics, importance and objectives of scientific research methods, the most important qualities that must be available in the scientific research method, types of scientific research methods and their definitions, a simplified explanation of the descriptive output and the historical method, and a presentation of the most important conclusions reached by the study). The third lecture, presented by the teacher, Dr. Omar Razzaq Hammoud, dealt with (Ethics of Scientific Research), in which he talked about (introducing the ethics of scientific research, the sources on which the researcher relies in his use of references and sources in his study, and the decisive factors in the success of scientific research, in addition to addressing the functional committees, including the Scientific Research Ethics Committee).

The course witnessed the presence of the center's researchers and a number of faculty and researchers from colleges and research centers at the university, which included some questions in different axes on the topics that were raised, which concluded with a test for all participants.
