Director of the Center as a lecturer in the scientific workshop held by the Decision Making Center of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers

In light of the great openness witnessed by the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research at the University of Anbar at all levels, Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, Director of the Center, participated as a lecturer in the scientific workshop held by the Information and Decision Support Center of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers within the activities of the House of Wisdom of the Council, which was entitled: The impact of climate change on the hydro chemical properties of the waters of the marshes of southern Iraq (the Hammar marsh as a model).
The lecture presented by the Director of the Center on ((The Impact of Climate Change on the Marshes in Southern Iraq)) included a full explanation of the emergence of the marshes, their formation and the effects of climate change on them in light of the decreasing water revenues to Iraq from neighboring countries, in addition to the effects of the Euphrates River Basin inside Iraq, with some ideas for the development of marsh management in light of the current water situation. He also reviewed some possible solutions to the impact of climate change on the marshes of southern Iraq, and the positive impact of the marshes on the environment as a good source of natural resources.
The scientific workshop was attended by a number of professors and researchers from various Iraqi universities and research centers in a number of relevant ministries such as the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Environment and relevant institutions.
