Participation in a public scientific committee

Assistant Professor Dr. Munir Naji Ahmed, a researcher at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research – University of Anbar, participated in the public scientific discussion committee for the master's student (Jassem Jihad Sayel), on his thesis titled: (Monitoring the phenomenon of land desertification in the Ramadi district and its impact on human activities using geospatial technologies), which was held in the Geography Department - College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Anbar, on Tuesday, 12/8/2025, in the Abu Thna Al-Alusi Hall at the college.
The thesis presented by the student aims to shed light on the phenomenon of land desertification in the district of Ramadi and its impact on human activities. The study recommended the necessity of addressing land desertification by encouraging farmers to reclaim all saline and alkaline lands with the aim of increasing the area of agricultural land and boosting production. This can be achieved thru the use of modern agricultural methods and reliance on modern geographical technologies, particularly high-resolution satellite imagery, to monitor and study desertification, determine its severity, and identify areas affected by desertification.
The discussion committee was chaired by:

· Supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Mohammed Khalaf. College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Anbar.
After the thorough discussion by the members of the discussion committee ... The thesis was accepted with a satisfactory grade.
