Participation of Researchers from the Upper Euphrates Centre in a Scientific Seminar on Women's Tumours


A group of researchers from the Upper Euphrates Centre for Sustainable Development Research – University of Anbar – participated in a specialised scientific seminar focused on raising awareness about women's tumours. The event was organised by the Anbar Centre for Cancer Treatment as part of the global awareness month for women's cancers, under the patronage of the Anbar Health Directorate and attended by its Director General, Dr Khudair Khalaf Shallal, alongside a distinguished group of physicians and medical professionals.

The seminar commenced with a welcoming speech by the Centre’s Director, who greeted the University President and attendees, emphasising the importance of collaboration between academic and health institutions in serving the community. The programme included a short film showcasing the Centre’s activities and therapeutic efforts, followed by a series of scientific lectures aimed at promoting health awareness and encouraging a culture of early cancer detection.

The President of the University of Anbar, Professor Dr Mushtaq Talib Al-Neda, delivered a speech in which he praised the Centre and its medical staff for their dedication to patient care and provision of specialised medical consultations. He reaffirmed the university’s support for such initiatives that embody the mission of higher education in community service and strengthen partnerships with health institutions.

The seminar concluded with a ceremony honouring the lecturers and a number of cancer survivors in recognition of their efforts and resilience in facing the disease.
