Scientific Visit to the Haditha Water Project


As part of its commitment to scientific exchange and strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and service departments, the staff of the Haditha Terminal Station undertook a scientific visit to the Haditha Water Project. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the project's technical and laboratory operations and explore avenues for joint cooperation in water quality testing and analysis.

The visiting team consisted of:

  • Mr. Basim Mohammed Mustafa
  • Mr. Bilal Mu'ayyad Abdul Raheem
  • Mr. Othman Abdul Hameed Mahmoud
  • Mr. Ghazwan Adel Abdul Wahid

This visit was officially commissioned by the center's administration to enhance practical cooperation and bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application. Its objectives included:

  • Understanding the operational system of the Haditha Water Project.
  • Learning about the laboratory tests used to ensure the suitability of water for human consumption.
  • Exploring the possibility of conducting joint research and applied studies that serve the water sector. The visiting team was received by Mr. Ahmed Akram Manawer, Assistant Director of the Haditha Water Project, and the Head of the Laboratories Department. During the meeting, a detailed review of the agreements reached was conducted:
  • Exchange of technical and laboratory expertise.
  • The possibility of conducting advanced tests in the center's laboratories to support the project's work.
  • Opening avenues for joint research related to improving treatment efficiency and reducing water loss.

The visit resulted in:

• Direct observation of the technical capabilities available at the project.

• Identification of research needs that the center can contribute to addressing.

• Strengthening mutual trust and establishing ongoing communication channels between the two parties.

• An agreement to begin taking practical steps to activate cooperation in the near future.

At the end of the visit, the team expressed their gratitude to the management and staff of the Haditha Water Project for their warm welcome and fruitful cooperation, emphasizing the importance of integration between academic and service institutions in supporting sustainable development and serving the community.
