The Upper Euphrates Center Holds a Scientific Workshop Entitled "Bacterial Enzymes and Their Effect on Human Tissues"

Continuing its efforts to support scientific advancement and activate research collaboration mechanisms with researchers from within and outside the University of Anbar, the Center's Human Resources Development Department, in cooperation with the University's Continuing Education Center, organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled "Bacterial Enzymes and Their Effect on Human Tissues." The workshop was held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in the Center's main hall.

The following individuals presented the workshop's topics:

Professor Dr. Mohammed Qais Abed, College of Science

Professor Dr. Muthanna Hamed Hassan, College of Science

Assistant Professor Dr. Muthanna Badie Farhan, College of Basic Education – Haditha Assistant Instructor Areej Hamad Hassan / Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research.

The workshop addressed several specialized scientific topics. Assistant Professor Dr. Muthanna Badie Farhan opened the workshop with a historical overview and scientific introduction to the subject, defining enzymes and toxins produced by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Assistant Instructor Areej Hamad Hassan also participated, presenting the scientific characteristics of endotoxins and exotoxins and their mechanisms of biological action.

In the second session, Professor Dr. Muthanna Hamed Hassan presented a detailed overview of the types of bacterial toxins according to different bacterial species, explaining their impact on the human food and health environment and their implications for public health.
