Continuing the joint scientific activities and events held by the colleges and departments of the University of Anbar, Dr. Haeein Shartouh Sharqi, an Instructor and researcher in the Natural Resources Development Department at the Upper Euphrates Center for Sustainable Development Research, University of Anbar, participated in the public scientific discussion committee for the Master's thesis submitted by student Noor Hamed Suleiman in the Department of Soil Science and Water Resources, College of Agriculture, University of Anbar.

The thesis, titled "The Role of Biochar in Regulating Nitrogen Fertilizer Recommendations and Some Growth and Yield Properties of Watermelon," was discussed on Sunday, March 8, 2026. It addressed an important scientific topic: studying the impact of using biochar on improving the efficiency of nitrogen fertilizer recommendations and its effect on certain growth and productivity characteristics of watermelon. This contributes to enhancing soil and agricultural resource management and achieving more sustainable agricultural practices.

The discussion session featured extensive scientific debate covering various scientific and methodological aspects of the thesis. The examining committee commended the student's scientific effort in preparing the thesis, appreciating its scientific content and research findings, which can contribute to the development of studies related to soil fertility management and improving agricultural crop production.

At the end of the discussion, and after a thorough scientific evaluation, the committee recommended accepting the thesis with a passing grade, subject to certain scientific revisions and corrections requested of the student to fulfill the necessary academic requirements for its final approval. Congratulations to the student and the supervisor on this scientific achievement, with our best wishes for continued success in their academic career.
