Panel Discussion: Supporting and Managing Agricultural Entrepreneurship

In line with the requirements of sustainable development, the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre - Human Resources Development Department, in coordination with the Continuing Education Centre at the University of Anbar, held a panel discussion entitled: (Supporting and Managing Agricultural Entrepreneurship), at the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre Hall, on Tuesday, 22/10/2024, in which each of the following lectured:
· Instructor Dr. Haneen Shartouh Sharqi.
· Instructor Dr. Saad Jabbar Hofi.
The topics of the panel discussion revolved around supporting agricultural entrepreneurship and how to manage it, designing, launching and operating projects in order to create job opportunities and economic growth, especially for graduates of the College of Agriculture, and encouraging them to establish small projects and develop them to expand in order to provide jobs for the unemployed, which is a major engine of economic growth.
Among the most important successful agricultural projects are the manufacture and production of organic fertilizers and humic acids, apiaries and honey production, food industries, garden engineering and design, decoration work and roof cultivation, opening nurseries for plant propagation, whether ornamental plants or seedlings for strategic horticultural crops and marketing them, opening agricultural advisory offices and marketing seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, construction of greenhouses, extension of drip irrigation and sprinkler systems, and the adoption of modern technologies in the management of these projects.
Among the most important recommendations that came out of the seminar:
1. Develop a plan for any project, study the economic feasibility and possibilities available for its implementation, and search for a source of funding.
2. Use of experts and advisors.
3. Employing practical teams and encouraging them to produce and work.
4. Employ social media to promote and market the project.
