Panel discussion on (Improving the prediction of hydrological drought for several months in a tropical region)
2024-12-07
Within the Global Entrepreneurship Week called by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in continuation of the events and activities held by the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre at University of Anbar, Assistant Instructor Muhammad Majeed Hameed moderated a panel discussion on: (Improving the prediction of hydrological drought for several months in a tropical region using a hybrid model of the extreme learning machine with the white whale optimization algorithm), on Wednesday, 4/12/2024, at the main hall of the centre, which was entitled:
"Improving multi-month hydrological drought forecasting in a tropical region using hybridized extreme learning machine model with Beluga Whale Optimization algorithm"
The workshop dealt with the topic of drought and hydrology, its importance, assessment and forecasting, in order to improve water management in areas affected by drought, as well as the adoption of plans to confront drought and reduce its repercussions on the environment, agriculture and hydroelectric power generation, and methods of calculating hydrological drought by taking advantage of monthly data for river discharges, as well as the workshop also dealt with modern algorithms that can improve the performance of artificial intelligence models and thus improve the accuracy of forecasting in drought.
